Our engaging educational programming connects students directly to the Sonoran Desert through STEAM-based activities. Infused with our scientific work in the Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve, students have opportunities to explore science and deepen their connection to our environment. Our programs are inquiry-based and adaptable to meet students where they are at; complementing your classroom curriculum. All of our programming aligns with Arizona Science Standards.
Whether you are a teacher or homeschool parent looking to enhance your science curriculum with hands-on learning, we have programming to fit your environmental education needs!
Elementary Teacher Resources
The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is happy to welcome third and fourth grade students and teachers to our expanded Expedition Days. We have three exciting STEAM-based program offerings. Each program supports Arizona Science Standards with interactive learning, both inside and outside the classroom.
These programs are always free in order to promote the accessibility of knowledge and learning, however we do not offer transportation at this time.
We offer a number of STEAM-based programs and activities that allow homeschooled students and educators to connect with the Sonoran Desert from home, as well as in the Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
The threats to our natural world have never been greater. It is only with the support of donors like you that we can protect the Sonoran Desert for future generations.
