Volunteering
Citizen Scientist for a Day
Citizen Scientist on the Trail
Enjoy a guided hike in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and learn how to play a part in conservation
research by becoming a citizen scientist.
Volunteers will be introduced to how and why data is collected in the Preserve. Contribute to data
collection apps like iNaturalist, Nature’s Notebook, and eBird to help create research-quality data
for scientists working to better understand and protect nature.
September - April
Citizen Scientist on the Road
Conservancy scientists provide a lecture at your campus on the topic of biodiversity and
conservation.
Scientist can do an optional evaluation of the campus and provide suggestions for invasive
species removal and native plant replacements.

Community Days
Invasive Species Removal
Volunteers help to keep the Sonoran Desert native by working alongside our Stewards to remove
invasive species.
February – April (Dates TBD)
Trash Pick Up (Road)
The Conservancy has adopted a section of the Arizona roadways. Four times a year we get
together to keep it clean.
