Lost Dog Wash Trailhead is one of the major access points for the southern Preserve. This award winning trailhead provides extensive vehicle and equestrian parking along with a gathering area and and other amenities. Lost Dog Wash Trailhead offers somewhat shorter and easier trails that wander around and across a natural desert wash. Kids love to explore for wildlife along the edge of the Lost Dog Wash Trail, just as native people did for hundreds of years. This field trip event engages 3rd and 4th grade students in place-based learning through fun, educational lessons about the Sonoran Desert. Program supports Arizona state curriculum standards and fits into the Expedition Days Online unit.
Expedition Days on the Trail will be available from November 2023 to March 2024.
