Lecture: The First Farmers of the Desert

Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Location: Mustang Library, 10101 N 90th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85258

Join our speaker from the S’edav Va’aki Museum (previously Pueblo Grande Museum) for a presentation, followed by an up-close look of artifacts. Learn about the Ancestral Sonoran Desert People, known to archaeologists as the Hohokam, who lived in Phoenix and the surrounding areas over a thousand years ago. Find out how they not only survived, but thrived in the desert by utilizing the landscape, building irrigation canals, and growing a variety of crops.

Please join Adriana Zavalza on June 23rd for this presentation at Scottsdale’s Mustang Library located at 10101 N 90th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
