Celebrating the Grand Opening of Sonoran Silver at Arizona Heritage Center!
We are pleased to present Sonoran Silver, an exhibit celebrating the over 25-year heritage of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve is the largest, and one of the most beautiful, urban preserves in the U.S. This Arizona treasure is visited by more than 750,000 residents and guests annually. Learn more about the history of the Preserve and the Conservancy through photos, narratives and artifacts and be inspired by our preservation message to all Arizonans and visitors. This exhibit is possible as part of an emerging partnership with the Arizona Historical Society and its premier museum, the Arizona Heritage Center. Conservancy Stewards and supporters are invited to enjoy a special grand opening celebration!

The Conservancy is proud to partner with the Arizona Historical Society, who has long served as the steward of state history, fulfilling its mission to collect, preserve, interpret, and disseminate the history of Arizona and the West. Collections, housed in AHS museum facilities throughout the state, number in excess of three million objects. AHS provides invaluable tools for promoting public understanding of contemporary issues such as water availability, immigration, free trade, mining, ranching and agribusiness, the defense industry, cultural diversity, and urban development and revitalization. The Arizona Historical Society — through its exhibits, programs, publications, and outreach — informs and inspires people of all ages by reminding them of the boldness and daring that characterized countless individuals, past and present, who have made Arizona their home.
Guests may enjoy the Sonoran Silver exhibition at no charge on July 13 and are welcome to browse other exhibits if time permits.
