It was 50 years ago that Apollo 11 brought the first man to the surface of the moon. A mission that lasted 8 days, 3 hours and 18 minutes. Kevin Schindler will discuss how Arizona played a key role in preparing to send humans to the moon in the late 1960s and early 1970s. As Apollo astronauts traveled to the Grand Canyon and various volcanic fields around the state to learn geology, practice their lunar excursions, and much more.
