How the Prehistoric Hohokam People Thrived in the Desert (Family)

The Hohokam people were able to survive and thrive in the harsh Sonoran Desert by using what the desert gave them in creative ways. On this hike, learn how the Hohokam built shelters, built canals for water, farmed, created pottery, and how they had fun. Experience some of the native peoplesʼ lives as you see and hear the world in which they lived. Allow 1 1/2 to 2 hours for this interactive hike into the world of the Hohokam. Bring water, sunscreen, and closed-toed shoes for safe hiking. This hike is for ages 6+, and all children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. 1:45 PM at Gateway Trailhead.
