“The City of Scottsdale is proud to declare Friday, March 10 as Junior Citizen Science Day in cooperation with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy,” says Mayor Jim Lane. Elementary school children and families will study 16 interactive, fun-filled activities about Sonoran Desert ecology, history and conservation.”

City of Scottsdale recognizes 25 years of partnership with McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. At the October 10 City Council meeting, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane proclaimed the month of October, 2016 as “Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve month recognizing 25 years of partnership with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.” Accepting the proclamation from Mayor Lane are Conservancy Board Chair Greg Kruzel and Conservancy Executive Director Mike Nolan.

INDUCTED INTO SCOTTSDALE’S HISTORY HALL OF FAME
Over the past 23 years, the Council has inducted 127 past and present leaders and 21 organizations into Scottsdale’s History Hall of Fame. Inductees have contributed immeasurably to the rich heritage of Scottsdale, dating back to it’s modern-day founding in 1888 by Army Chaplin Winfield Scott. The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is honored to be one of those inducted.
